MFA GUITAR CAMP 2023

I came back home with a suitcase full of emotions, laughter and a few tears. When I do an event like this I only have the power of my mind and a set programme…nothing else. Then it happens that each of the participants puts in energy, personality, sympathy and the desire to share with other people all that is possible to share. There was half of Europe in this edition. As I have already told someone if this camp was magical it is only thanks to each one of you. It’s called MFA “GUITAR” CAMP and I think it’s clear to everyone that for those 4 days the guitar comes second.
You come out of these experiences better thanks to the exchange of opinions, thanks to the moments when you talk about life and sometimes a tear escapes. I met and found all of you again, different people but with a giant heart.
I missed my daughter so much but I told her I was going to do something beautiful with Andy Timmons.

After the first edition I realised which people I have to avoid, which ones I have to hold on to and which ones need to be told ‘sure, you decide’.

I train my mind every day, for years.
My power stays there.
Thank you to all the participants of MFA GUITAR CAMP 2023.

As in the last edition, I had my fill of friendship and humanity. The notes and concepts were many but you can study those in books too… it is your humility that made the difference.

Tom Quayle: you are my giant! I wish everyone to find a teacher like you. Thank you.

Jack Gardiner: I have understood your humility since our first meeting and as I have already told you, you have been a fundamental part of this camp. I’ll say it again, no excuses: YOU LEGEND

Nick Johnston: Thanks because from now on I can use you as an answer to the question “what does it mean to be an artist?”. There will be nowhere my coke zero won’t reach you. Thanks Bro!

Andy Timmons: I have to focus a lot on managing my mind and heart when you are around. The emotions I feel just talking to you about life leave a mark. I love you. No need to add any more.

Ciro Manna: another example of experience and competence that you rarely find. Thanks

You make the difference because of who you are, not how you play.

If the MFA GUITAR CAMP live shows smash your face in, it is definitely thanks to my partners in crime:

Fabio Pansini, an exceptional drummer who prepares/transcribes all the artists’ songs note for note in great detail.

Francesco Carcano is ‘the’ musician. Maniacal precision, control of sound and language like few others. I am lucky to always have him by my side. Irreplaceable.

Edoardo Maggioni: a Legend. When I meet musicians of this level I hold on to them.

I also want to thank Stefano Gentilini who helped me program and set up the PC to use Nick and Jack’s sequences (in his bathrobe and live from Trieste)

With them you always have peace of mind…I am aware of the responsibility they have and that is why I consider them to be just as outstanding as the artists of MFA GUITAR CAMP.

For sure they will be the artists you will see at 100% in the next edition.

Thank you guys

Davide Leoni – Head of MFA GUITAR CAMP
